Cross-tier Cooperative Transmission Strategy in Macro-pico Heterogeneous Network

To fully exploit the benefits of heterogeneous network (HetNet), in which macro BSs (base stations) and small BSs coexist, the intercell interference mitigation and radio resource management has attracted general attention. We propose a cross-tier cooperative transmission strategy with precoding at downlink OFDMA resource block level, supported by macro BSs and small BSs ,to reduce the intercell interference in HetNet. Simulation results demonstrate the proposed strategy provides significant system throughput gain compared with non-cooperative scheme.
